Hanoi [Vietnam], November 7: Behind their artistic projects, Nha Thy and her husband spend time talking, listening, and resolving life's pressures together.
As a familiar face to audiences in the Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) theater , Nha Thy brings a fresh perspective to the sitcom "Vitamin of Happiness ." Sharing her reasons for accepting the role, she said she felt excited to experience a new form of performance. In particular, each script explores a specific issue, offering practical knowledge about health, family happiness, and relationships in life.
Nha Thy's new direction
The actress expressed: "Initially, when I switched from traditional Vietnamese opera to short skits like these, I felt quite strange because the working methods were very different. But the more I participated, the more interesting I found it. Each script has its own content and adds a lot of knowledge that I sometimes overlook, even about the small things in life."
Besides offering a new experience, "Vitamin of Happiness" also gave Nha Thy the opportunity to change her approach to character portrayal. While traditional Vietnamese opera requires the use of vocal talent, emotion, and distinctive stage presence, sitcoms demand a more natural and relatable style of everyday communication.
"Here, I have to learn to speak more softly and naturally, as if I'm living the character rather than trying to act. Sometimes my colleagues remind me to make my lines a little more realistic," the stage actress shared.
Instead of trying to completely change her familiar image, Nha Thy chose to embrace new things while still retaining her personal style. Collaborating with many actors from the fields of theater and television for the first time, Nha Thy had many interesting experiences on set. The actress revealed that she laughs quite easily, which sometimes made it difficult to perform humorous scenes.
Despite differences in acting style, Nha Thy highly appreciates the supportive spirit of the film crew members. In particular, when taking on scenes involving arguments or conflicts with the character played by her husband, Minh Truong, the young actress is always clearly aware of the boundary between work and personal life. The actress stated that when stepping into a role, all emotions must serve the situation in the script, without letting personal stories interfere.
